Traffic impacts and information to consider for option 3

  • Elimination of two-way passing conflicts west of Miller Street
  • Continued two-way passing conflicts to the east of Miller Street, however, to a lesser extent than existing conditions
  • Retention of more local access compared to other options
  • Some improvements for cyclists, but not as much as concept options one and two
  • Loss of right-turn entry from Punt Road
  • No dedicated cycling provisions east of Miller Street
Concept option 3: partial one-way, westbound
Traffic reduction on Rowena Parade
  • Moderate reduction (up to 65 vehicles per peak hour)
Impact on local access
  • Some local trips become less direct, with an overall low to moderate impact on local access
Impact to Lennox Street
  • Minor reduction in non-local traffic (up to 30 vehicles per peak hour)
  • Low traffic increases due to local traffic redistribution (10 to 20 vehicles per peak hour)
Impacts on wider area
  • Low to moderate traffic increases on surrounding streets, mainly Richmond Terrace, Tanner Street and Sherwood Street (up to 40 vehicles per peak hour spread across all streets)
