Welcome to Your Yarra: Our Future – the exciting journey we're taking with our community to develop Yarra's first ever Community Vision.
The Community Vision will embody the hopes, dreams and aspirations of our residents, businesses and workers for the next 15 years.
We’ll be connecting and partnering with people from all walks to life to create a shared set of values and bedrock for good decision making at Yarra – both for today and future generations.
The Community Vision will also be the cornerstone for Yarra’s next four-year Council Plan. Our Council Plan shapes everything we do at Yarra and the resources we need to deliver them. It will also provide a framework for our annual reporting.
Upcoming project dates
- Thursday 15 October: Champions network briefing - find out more about the project and how you can support outreach with our community.
- Monday 2 November: Community-facing consultation page goes live.
- Wednesday 4 November: Cultural ambassadors training - representatives of key language groups are supported to reach out their communities.
- Friday 15 January: Stage 1 (broad community outreach) close date.
We want to hear from you
This is going to be a big project. Many of you will be involved in one way or another, whether it’s providing advice, insight, or your own personal experiences with our community.
Your unique perspectives are important to delivering a successful engagement process, which is expected to start this November with broad community consultation and culminate with a deliberative panel in mid-2021.
