Yarra City Council, in partnership with the Victorian Government, is upgrading the dog off-leash area at Quarries Park. This upgrade responds to the actions recommended for the suburb of Clifton Hill in the Yarra Open Space Strategy (2020).

Quarries Park is a local open space, sporting precinct and a place for social gatherings. This upgrade will provide the community with an improved dog off-leash area and a welcoming space for everyone to enjoy.

By improving the dog off-leash area and surrounding parkland we're aiming to:

  • establish a safer, more welcoming and inclusive space for all park users as well as dogs and their owners
  • further foster social connections and improve the mental and physical well-being of all park users
  • strengthen the biodiversity corridor linkages from the Merri Creek and Yarra River systems
  • help mitigate the heat island effect and create a more comfortable environment on site

We have prepared a draft Concept Plan, and we want to get your feedback to help us finalise the design.
