We’re trialling a new pop-up bike lane on Park Street in Fitzroy North to help reduce congestion on the nearby Capital City Trail.

Recently, Yarra City Council voted to trial a new contraflow pop-up bike lane on Park Street in Fitzroy North. The bike lane will be located along Park Street, between Nicholson Street and St Georges Road.

This will allow bike riders to ride in the opposite direction to existing one-way traffic, and provide an alternative route to the currently very congested Capital City Trail shared path.

When will works happen?

Linemarking and other works will begin on Monday 20 July 2020 and will take around two weeks to complete (subject to weather conditions).

Some on-street car parking spaces will be temporarily closed at times to allow through traffic.Traffic management will be on site to assist vehicles and pedestrians during the works.

Construction hours will be between 7am and 5pm, from Monday to Friday.
