Consultation has concluded.

In August and September 2015, Yarra City Council embarked on a collaborative community engagement program - where representatives of the Yarra community came together to talk about future planning, under the Liveable Yarra Project.

About this project

Changes to the way Melburnians live, move around, play and work has greatly influenced how Yarra's neighbourhood have evolved over the past 200 years.

Growth and change will always continue to be a part of Yarra's story. Council's role is to plan ahead and put the right measures in place to ensure our City remains a great place to live, work, visit and do business.

Liveable Yarra was about hearing from our community about the challenges and opportunities for the future of Yarra. Through this project, our community had an important role to play in influencing the decisions that shape our city.

The project focused on themes including:

  • People and housing
  • Business and employment
  • The built environment, and
  • Access and movement
