<p>Council is aware that occasionally noise from people and music around the entertainment precinct prevents nearby residents from getting a good night’s sleep or enjoying their local neighbourhood. Blunt statutory planning tools are only presently available to address this issue. The rule is basically, if the venue was there first, they have a right to conduct business as usual, and residents cannot expect reduced noise unless it is excessive.
