Precinct summary

The Cremorne, Richmond South and Burnley precinct is bounded to the north by Swan Street, south and east by the Yarra River and west by Punt Road.

Where is open space currently located?

The precinct is home to a significant area of quality open space, including the reserves along the Yarra River, Burnley Public Golf Course, Kevin Bartlett Reserve, Burnley Park and Loy's Paddock. Most of these sites are to the east of the precinct, with a historic lack of open space to the west. This is particularly evident in Cremorne where significant growth is projected.

Recommendations

• Provide new small neighbourhood, local and small local open space reserves in Cremorne to cater to a forecast 10,000 additional workers and residents.
• Improve the quality and diversity of facilities in existing open spaces across the precinct.
• Explore introducing more diverse golfing options and other sporting uses at Burnley Public Golf Course.
  
• Strengthen natural biodiversity values along the Yarra River corridor to contribute to the character and resilience of Richmond South and Burnley.
