Precinct summary

Central Richmond is bounded to the north by Bridge Road, to the south by Swan Street, the west by Punt Road and east by the Yarra River.

Where is open space currently located?

Burnley Park, the Circus site and reserves along the Yarra River contribute to the open space character of Central Richmond. Most of these are located in the east of the precinct. There is a need to supplement open space provision in the west side of Central Richmond given the level of growth expected.

Recommendations

• Provide new local and small local open spaces to cater to the forecast population in the west of Central Richmond.
• Diversify the recreational facilities in the west of Central Richmond, to cater to existing and future population and mitigate the urban heat island effect.
