Consultation has concluded.

Yarra is a vibrant, culturally diverse community, with 29% of its residents born overseas. Multiculturalism contributes to the unique character of Yarra, and Council is committed to celebrating this and finding ways to continue supporting its multicultural communities.

Earlier this year, Council conducted extensive consultations with community groups and individuals to help develop a draft Multicultural Partnerships Plan which will outline Council’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful Yarra.

The Plan outlines ideas and possible actions which have been collected from feedback from the community. The four priority areas of the Plan include:

  • Relationships
  • Access and Inclusion
  • Opportunities
  • Anti-Racism

Each of the priority areas has two strategies, and a list of potential actions which will aim to achieve positive outcomes for the community as a whole.

All comments will be considered when endorsing the final plan. Please provide your response to the questions below.

You can contact Cristina Del Frate, Community Planner- Multicultural Affairs directly on 9205 5174 or cristina.delfrate@yarracity.vic.gov.au and to request information on the draft plan in a language other than English or to request an interpreter.
