Thank you to everyone who contributed to the first stage of our community consultation!

This feedback is now being considered and will play an important role in shaping the next steps in the development of our Council Plan.

This feedback will be used to inform the next stage of engagement which will involve a deliberative engagement process with a community working group. Approximately 50 participants who represent Yarra’s diverse community will be selected through an independently run expression of interest process.

Across 4 sessions in early 2025, the community working group will come together and explore ways Council can respond to Yarra’s growth in a financially sustainability way. They will also provide recommendations of draft priority areas for the new Council Plan.

If you would like to join the deliberative stage of this project, expressions of interest are now open. Participants will receive a payment to cover the cost of their time to attend the sessions.

Find out more about this process and complete your expression of interest using the link below. Expression of interest closes at 12 midday on Friday 10 January 2025.

Yarra is changing and growing and we want you to be a part of shaping its future.

The Council Plan informs all our work, decision making and strategic direction over the next 4 years. It incorporates the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan which guides Council’s work in protecting, improving and promoting our community’s health and wellbeing.

We’re also taking this opportunity to review and update several key Council documents to ensure that Yarra continues to thrive over the next decade and beyond. These include:
