By 2031, it's predicted that there will be a 62% increase in resident population in the Collingwood area.
That's why we're increasing the green space available to the community on the corner of Budd and Easey Streets (near the substation on Easey Street).
Last year, following sentiment testing with the local community, there was strong support for a new open space at this location. Council has since approved a road discontinuance and we've now created a draft Concept Design for the new open space.

In September 2025 we spoke to locals to get your ideas and get a sense check of whether this project meets your needs. There was strong support (93% of 44 participants) for the proposal to provide more open space for this location.

Road discontinuance
January to March 2026
The community could submit a response and indicate whether or not they supported the proposed road closure at this location. The results showed strong support for the proposal and, at the Council Meeting on Tuesday 10 March, Council resolved to discontinue a section of Budd Street.
